The International Metals Reclamation Company, INMETCO, is located 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh in Ellwood City, PA. Since 1978, INMETCO has recycled common industrial metal wastes such as EAF dust, mill scale, swarf, and flue dust from stainless steel manufacturers.
INMETCO became a subsidiary of our company in 2009. Using a High-Temperature Metal Recovery Process, we’re able to recycle certain metal bearing wastes to reclaim nickel and other valuable metals.
The result: we reduce the volume of industrial waste placed in landfills and reclaim valuable natural metal resources. In addition, we conserve the valuable stock of unmined metals.

Industrial Waste Recycling
Nickel is everywhere in our world including coins, magnets, jewelry, electronics and more. From an industrial standpoint, there are many practical manufacturing applications that use this lustrous transition meta land from which metal bearing waste is generated that can be recycled. Some of the common industrial waste sources include EAF dust, bag house dusts, mill scale, filter cake, swarf, spent nickel and chromium solutions, grindings, wastewater treatment plant sludge, plating bath solutions, tank bottoms, pickling acids and rinse waters.

We accept bulk shipments of liquids and solids, as well as materials packaged in drums, totes, gaylords, and super sacks secured on pallets.
Various types of used industrial and consumer batteries, including alkaline and nickel cadmium, are recycled to reclaim nickel and other valuable metals. The facility is capable of recycling large industrial battery packs from aircraft and batteries used by railroads, electric utilities, military and telecommunication companies for back-up power. Used batteries of various smaller types from transceivers, portable power tools and appliances, as well as medical equipment and emergency lighting systems, are also recycled at the facility.
